Actress Reema Lagoo dies of cardiac arrest

Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood actress Reema Lagoo today died of cardiac arrest here. The 59-year-old Marathi TV and stage actress breathed her last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Andheri where she was rushed shortly after midnight.

Born in 1958, her original name was Nayan Bhadbhade. Reema Lagoo started her career with theatre, where she performed in several Marathi plays. She later took it as a full-time profession. At the age of 30, she worked in Mansoor Khan’s “Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak”, where she portrayed Juhi Chawla’s mother Kamla Singh.

She played mother to all the top actors and actresses of the Hindi film industry on the silver screen. Her most popular movies were “Hum Aapke Hain Kaun”, “Hum Saath Saath Hain”, “Maine Pyar Kiya” and “Kal Ho Na Ho”.
