Akshay Kumar to play PM Modi in next film

With a National Award in his kitty, Akshay Kumar has catapulted to dizzying heights of success in the past few years. Akshay Kumar who unlike his peers, has multiple releases every year, has made sure his ‘Khiladi’ days are behind him. Akki, has now dwelled into the content backed commercial territory. His films be it ‘Airlift’, ‘Baby’, or ‘Jolly LLB 2’, these films were commercial, yet had powerful content.

His upcoming films ‘Toilet- Ek Prem Katha’ and ‘Padman’ further dive deep in the social commercial space. The movies will based on the social issues faced by women in India, when it comes to lack of toilets or inaccessibility to menstrual products. These social issues are also the undertaking of the current BJP led government in the country.

This has prompted strong rumours in the Delhi political circles that Akshay Kumar will play the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an upcoming film. According to a report in DNA, Akshay has stumped veteran actors like Paresh Rawal and Anupam Kher to play the role of Narendra Modi. “But the kind of reach and impact that Akshay Kumar’s presence will have in a story on Modi would be far-reaching and productive,” a source revealed to the newspaper.

Shatrughan Sinha, a senior BJP politician gives his nod saying, “Akshay is the Mr Clean of India. His image goes well with the image of the New Shining India.”
