Alwal Rythu Bazar to be modernized: Harish Rao

Hyderabad, Aug.2 (Maxim News): Irrigation & Marketing Minister T Harish Rao today said the Alwal Rythu Bazar will be modernized with all facilities and equipment.

The minister held a review meeting with the officials of Railways, Secunderabad Cantonment Board and Roads & Buildings department. Harish Rao said they have decided to give a facelift to the market. The officials were asked to conduct a survey for the purpose by acquiring required land, he said. He also sought cooperation of the three departments for the new Rythu Bazar, which is to be developed further. He instructed Marketing Director Lakshmi Bai to make arrangements for online transactions from September 1 for transparent services.

Referring to alleged irregularities, Harish Rao instructed the officials to suspend staffers, including Market Secretary Santosh Kumar, Supervisor Ramesh, Mohammad Pasha, Attender Mohammed Ali for manipulating Rs 5.22 lakh by collecting fees in Jangaon Market Yard against norms. He also informed that he will lay foundation stone for modernization of Kukatpalli Ruthu Bazar as the present one will be shifted to Hitech City flyover.

As the Rythu Bazar at Gaddi Annaram was causing inconvenience to people because of Metro Station and traffic congestion, it will be shifted to Koheda in Hayat Nagar mandal, Harish Rao said, adding steps will be taken in this regard soon. He said Rs 164 crore was allotted to acquire 178 acres for the new market to be developed with all facilities.

Harish Rao said the fourth phase of Haritha Haram will create better environment and attract more rains. Keeping its priority in view, the officials of the Marketing department should plunge into action to plant one lakh saplings under Haritha Haram program at all the godowns and Market yards to turn them green.
