Andhra Pradesh: 18 Students Suspended For Ragging In JNTU

The scourge of ragging continues to stalk students in several Telugu states, as in the most recent example in Andhra Pradesh, 18 students of JNTU Anantapur were punished for ragging juniors after it was discovered to be true following verification.

The College Academic Council of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) punished second-year Anantapur Engineering College students for dragging some freshers to their hostel.

When questioned by the college authority, the newcomers admitted that the seniors had ragged them. There are also claims that three additional senior students ragged the junior students. Investigation is underway.
