AOBOA launches statewide bus strike

All Odisha Bus Owners Association (AOBOA) today threatened to launch a statewide indefinite strike from November one next if their 11 point charter of demands were not met by the government.

AOBOA general secretary Debendra Kumar Sahu said ,17,000 private buses plying on different routes across the state would be off the road. He said the decision to resort to strike was taken at the general body meeting of the association after repeated request to the authorities to consider their demands did not yield any result.

The association demanded the authorities to collect a toll fee of Rs 2,000 per month from the bus owners instead of collecting the fee from the bus owners and the passengers and to relocate the toll gates on National Highways.
