Beef ban affecting people’s health, says Telangana official

A District Collector in Telangana on Friday said that beef ban due to “bad Brahminical culture” is affecting the health of people, especially scheduled castes and the scheduled tribes and advised them to eat what they had been eating for centuries to remain physically fit.

Jayashankar Bhupalapally Collector A. Murali made the controversial remarks while addressing a rally at Eturanagaram to mark World Tuberculosis Day.

“I am telling you because this is a fact. A bad Brahminical culture has come in which is saying we should not to eat beef. This is all nonsense,” he said.
