Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today said that the country achieved nothing out of Demonetisation and in fact suffered economic development by 1.4 percent.
Talking to news persons here, Mr Narayanasamy said that Rs 500 and Rs.1000 notes were demonetised to bring out black money, money not reaching to terrorists and to eradicate counterfeit currencies.
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and former Minister P Chidambaram had then cautioned the government stating that it is a wrong decision and will affect economic development.
As if to substantiate this, the government had announced that one percent of the demonetised notes that is Rs 16,000 crore which is yet to come back, he added.
