CS reviews improving Ease of Doing Business

Hyderabad, Jan.17 (Maxim News): A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Telangana Chief Secretary here on Tuesday to review improving Ease of Doing Business.

At the outset, the Chief Secretary congratulated all the departments for their tireless, persistent efforts for securing No.1 rank in the country in the Ease of Doing Business.

The Chief Secretary directed all the departments to keep up the spirit this year too. He also directed holding interdepartmental meeting and create operational systems for day-to-day use. He reviewed the activities taken up by the departments and directed to ensure the reforms to be implemented at the ground level.

Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion communicated the new proposed “Business Reform Action Plan” for the year 2016-17 and requested the State Government to furnish the inputs/remarks/suggestion. DIPP further informed that the States will be ranked based on the level of compliance of these reforms and usage of the systems.

There are a set of 294 questions in the “new business reform action plan” covering 13 Secretariat departments and 27 HoDs. Out of these, there are four newly added secretariat departments viz., Agriculture, Health & Family Welfare, Food & Civil Supplies, Roads & Buildings and eight newly added HoDs viz., Commissioner Agriculture, Ayush, Director, Medical and Health, Drug Control Administration, Controller of Legal Metrology, Engineer-in- Chief, Roads and Buildings Department, Mines and Geology Department, Chief Electrical Inspectorate.

Chief Secretary directed all the departments which were part of EODB-2016 to offer hand holding services to the new departments in implementation of the reforms.

The new action plan for EODB was formulated and each department has appointed a nodal officer for implementing the reforms. Chief Secretary has requested all Principal Secretaries/Secretaries/HoDs to ensure that all reforms are put into use by March 31.
