Double bedroom house is a matter of self-respect: KTR

Hyderabad, April 22 (Maxim News): K. T. Rama Rao, Minister for MA&UD said that the Telangana State Government is committed for the overall development of poor and downtrodden people duly taking care of their self respect and well being.

Keeping in view of the problems of the poor the State Government has taken up 2 bed room houses under 2BHK housing scheme in the entire state with 2.33 lakhs houses with an approximate cost of 18 thousand crores out of which 1 lakh houses will be constructed in GHMC limits in the coming days.

Ministers K.T. Rama Rao, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Jeevan Reddy, MLA along with Ms. K. Hemalatha and Taruni Corporators has participated at Bhoomi puja held at GY Reddy Compound, Bansilalpet here on Saturday addressing the gathering Minister for MA&UD said that 180 (2) bed room houses are being taken up for construction with a cost of Rs.15.57 crores for the convenience of the poor and downtrodden people and to live with self respect and with more comfort.

Each house is costing around 9 lakhs and the market value of the unit cost in the market will be around 45 lakhs in the near future. The Housing Scheme will be taken up in all the identified slums in a phased manner and the GHMC officials are striving hard and appealing the slum dwellers to come forward to join hands with GHMC for taking up 2BHK housing scheme.

The Minister said that the Government has taken up various schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi, Shadi Mubarak, Aasara Pension Accident insurance for Auto Drivers etc., for the benefit of the poor and needy people. The Government is committed to serve the poor with much more benefits for their well being in the near future.

Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Minister has appealed all the beneficiaries to personally monitor the construction works regularly and given directions not to pay any amount to the mediators etc.,
Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner, GHMC, Ms. Prashanthi, Joint Collector Hyderabad District and senior officials various Government heads of Departments have participated in the programme. (Maxim News)
