HMR To Go For ‘Smart’ Parking System

Hyderabad Metro passengers will soon have to pay for parking their vehicles at Metro stations with the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) planning to introduce a smart parking management system at 24 stations on the Nagole-Miyapur stretch shortly. Currently, Metro passengers are permitted to park their vehicles at the stations for free.

Once the smart parking system comes into vogue, two-wheeler owners will have to pay Rs 6 for the first two hours and Rs 3 for every hour thereafter. Four-wheeler owners will have to pay Rs 16 for the initial two hours and Rs 8 for every hour thereafter. More importantly, the motorists will be penalised heavily for parking the vehicles outside designated areas.
