Irrfan : I want to play a woman on screen

Last year, Kangana Ranaut had reportedly bowed out of a film with Irrfan Khan, fuelling rumours of a cold war between them. Irrfan’s sarcasm-laced remark, “Kangana has gone so out of reach that I will work with her only if I wish to be a heroine,” added fuel to fire. However, later, the two seemed to have mended their relationship.

In a revelation that can at best be termed unusual, Irrfan has reportedly said he was once approached for a role that was eventually played by Kangana. “I was offered the role of a woman in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s ‘Revolver Rani’ (2014). It was Kangana’s part. I had decided to do it, but there were some intimate scenes that I thought people will not enjoy.” He also confessed he would “love to play a woman on screen.”
