KCR has sensed anti-incumbency wave: Uttam

  • Mattampalli farmers felicitate Uttam for LI schemes
  • TPCC Chief ridicules KCR’s fresh love for farmers
  • Demands payment of fertilizer subsidy from this Khariff

Mattampalli (Huzurnagar), April 27 (Maxim News): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the public meeting organised by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in Warangal on Thursday clearly indicates that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has sensed rising anti-incumbency wave in the State against his government.

“With three years of non-performance and a huge burden of unfilled promises, KCR is presently living in fear. He must have sensed the rising dissent among public against TRS Government. Therefore, he now wants to dilute the anti-incumbency factor with new hopes by making another round of false promises at Warangal meeting,” Uttam Kumar Reddy said while addressing a massive meeting organised by farmers of Mattampalli mandal on successful completion of several developmental schemes including Lift Irrigation Projects.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the fanfare with which TRS organised its Warangal meeting clearly points out the KCR wants to regain touch with common people which got lost due to non-fulfilment of promises. He also ridiculed KCR’s revived love for farmers. “Agriculture sector remained neglected during the last three years. Farmers lost four consecutive crops and failed to get better prices for their produce during this Rabi season. Over 3,000 farmers committed suicide during TRS regime and not a single family got the compensation of Rs. 6 lakh under GO 421. Shockingly, no TRS leader visited the family of distressed farmer who committed suicide. Having caused all the damage during the last three years, KCR is now talking about empowering farmers,” he said.

The TPCC Chief said that the Chief Minister’s announcement of giving Rs. 4,000 per acre fertilizer subsidy was just an election gimmick. He said if KCR was really serious, then he should pay the fertilizer subsidy from the Khariff season beginning next month. He announced that the Congress party would launch an agitation seeking immediate implementation of the promise. He also condemned the Chief Minister for not clearing the crop loan waiver dues in one take and said that the instalment-based waiver did not help the farmers.

Taking a jibe at ‘Gulabi Coolie’, the fund raising drive of TRS, Uttam Kumar Reddy said when minister KTR could raise Rs. 7 lakh by selling ice-cream, he must have sold chilli, turmeric and onion to help the farmers who are in deep distress for not getting remunerative prices for their produce. He described the TRS celebrations at “shameless” and said that the ruling party have no concern for the farmers who committed suicide and others who is deep trouble.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the fear of students prevented KCR from addressing the centenary celebrations of Osmania University. He said KCR had cheated students and youth who played a major role in formation of Telangana. “KCR had nothing to say as he had failed to provide jobs and also damaged the entire education system,” he said adding that as against the promise of giving one job in each household, the Chief Minister failed to give even one job in all villages. “Only KCR’s family got four jobs after formation of Telangana,” he said while referring to ministers Harish Rao, KTR and Nizamabad MP Kavitha.

Stating that the Congress party was all set to come to power in 2019 elections, the TPCC Chief announced that if voted to power, Congress Government would waive off crop loans upto Rs. 2 lakh in a single take. He also announced payment of bonus in addition to MSP for all crops. He said that the Congress party would create lakhs of jobs and all unemployed youth would be paid a monthly stipend until they get a job. He said all Indiramma houses would be upgraded to double room. He also announced waiver of loans for more than 6 lakh Women Self Help Groups.

Speaking about reservations, the Congress leader said that the State Government was empowered to increase the quota for SCs and STs in proportionate to their population without any legislation or approval by the Central Government. However, he said KCR denied enhanced quota for STs and SCs for the last three years and still dragging the issue by creating legal complications. He said that the TRS Government should implement promised 12% reservation for Muslims. Similarly, he said that the reservation percentage for Backward Classes (A, B, C and D) should be increased in proportionate to their population.

Earlier, Uttam Kumar Reddy was brought in huge rally and felicitated by the local farmers on successful completion of Lift Irrigation schemes of Choutapally, Erragattu, Mattampalli, Amaravaram and Vemuluru which benefitted thousands of farmers. Similarly, they thanked him for setting up of 33/11 KVA sub-stations in Pedaveedu, Raghunathapalem, Chennaipalem and Bakkamantulagudem; construction of highways and bridge and other developmental activities.

The meeting was also addressed by Kodad MLA N. Padmavathi, Mattampalli mandal congress president Manju Naik and other leaders. (Maxim News)
