Muslim Clerics Urge Community to Avoid Bull Sacrifice

Hyderabad, August 21 (Maxim News): Clerics and Islamic scholars from different factions of Muslim community unanimously called on Muslims to avoid sacrificing Bulls this Bakrid. The move, according to clerics, will help in thwarting the atrocities on Muslims by ‘so called Gaurakshaks’ transporting these animals for holy sacrifice during the Muslim festival Eid-ul-Azha popularly known as Bakrid.

Addressing the media at Media Plus Auditorium on Sunday afternoon, Maulana Syed Hamid Hussain Shuttari (Center) Spokesman All India Sunni Ulama Board, appealed the Muslim community “to avoid partaking in sacrifice of larger animals like bulls too while cows were already being avoided for the last few years. He advised Muslims to resort to sacrifice animals like goats, sheep or camels this Eid. They reiterated that “showing compassion and respect towards other communities, the cow sacrifice during Bakrid has been avoided altogether in the last few years. However, the atrocities have still continued to increase exponentially”, coercing them to take this decision.

The decision, the clerics exclaimed, “was devoid of any political pressure or apprehensions from the any Hindutva forces but rather is a strategic move to stand firm in challenging times like these”.

Dr. Syed Aasif Umri, Vice President Jamiat Ahle Hadees, Hyderabad and Secunderabad “Muslims are being targeted in the name of cow slaughter by so called gaurakshaks. This is an attempt to breach country’s communal harmony in the name of religion.” Indian Muslims are mired in challenging times, and Hindutva forces are prying to damage the Muslim community.

He also stressed that “200 cows, who were deprived of fodder, starved to death at a Gowshala managed by a BJP leader and they still blame Muslims for cow slaughter.” “Most major slaughter houses in India belong to the Hindu community, where they slaughter these animals and sell their meat, will suffer from this decision”, he added.

The ulemas exclaimed that if Muslims Boycott these animals for two years, these Hindutva forces will be forced to take care of the growing population, their fodder and the losses incurred due to animal trade declining in consequence.

The Ulemas advised the Muslim community to maintain hygience and dispose animal waste and skins properly.

The decision to boycott is not under pressure or apprehension from any forces, but will be seen as a strategic move to protect Muslims from atrocities. Hakeem Soofi Syed shah Mohammed Khairuddin Quadri Soofi, Syed Ayyub Pasha Quadri, Mohammed Mohamid Ali Shah Minhaj Quadri
