Raghuveera Reddy, former cabinet minister of United Andhra Pradesh, former MP and Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee, Chief, in an open letter asked both TDP chief, Nara Chandrababu Naidu and YSRCP chief, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, to boycott Rajya Sabha

He wrote, “Both TDP and YSRCP should be away from the Rajya Sabha Elections. Thus, expressing the state€™s dissent against the Centre, in view of AP Special Category Status, implementation of the pledges made in the AP Reorganization Act 2014.

The people are protesting against the negligence and discrimination shown towards the State by the Centre. The state has a quota of 2 (against the 3 seats) Rajya Sabha seats this time around. Hence, the State Government can bring pressure on the Centre, by ignoring the Rajya Sabha Elections.”
