  • TPCC will hold ‘Telangana Praja Garjana’ meeting at Sangareddy on June 1
  • Congress to release chargesheet against TRS Govt failures
  • Three year rule of BJP, TRS Governments was a total failure: Uttam

Hyderabad, May 18 (Maxim News): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy informed that AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi will visit Telangana on June 1.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that Rahul Gandhi will address a massive public meeting ‘Telangana Praja Garjana’ at Sangareddy at 4 PM on June 1. He will also release a ‘Chargesheet’ against the failures of TRS Government during the last three years in the State.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that people in the country have elected new governments in the country and State in 2014 elections with the high hopes. However, both, BJP Government at the Centre and TRS Government in Telangana, disappointed common people with their poor performance and failure to deliver on the tall promises that they made with the people. He said corruption, dictatorial attitude, arrogance of power and wrong propaganda against opposition have become the trademarks of TRS Government. “It is a known fact that TRS is acting as a secret ally of BJP. However, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has completely failed to get any assistance from the Centre for Telangana and he himself miserably failed to resolve the problems being faced by the people in the State,” he said.

The TPCC chief pointed out that Telangana is now second in the list of States with high number of farmers’ suicides. He said that KCR Government kept the farmers hooked to their loans by not waiving off crop loan waiver scheme dues in a single take. Farmers were neither provided any input subsidy, nor were they extended any help when they lost their crops due to natural calamities like drought and unseasonal rainfall. Today, lakhs of farmers are suffering for denial of remunerative prices for their crops. Instead of helping them, TRS Government has implicated the farmers in fake cases, got them arrested and were further humiliated by bringing them to court in hand-cuffs. He said thousands of farmers also faced harassment and intimidation when they refused to part with their lands due to non-implementation of Land Acquisition Act 2013. He said that the Congress party would approach the Supreme Court against the new land acquisition act of the State Government and would insist only on implementation of Land Acquisition Act 2013.

Uttam Kumar Reddy also slammed the TRS Government for its failure to provide promised jobs to unemployed youth in the State. He said that the government did not even allow the jobless youth to hold protest. He said women were yet to get their due share in the new State. He said that the Chief Minister did not induct a single woman in his cabinet during the last three years. He said all sections of the society were disappointed with the performance of KCR. He said that the government has deliberately delayed the increase in quota for Scheduled Tribes from 6% to 9%. He said no special legislation was required to increase the quota for STs in proportionate to their population. Consequently, he said STs lost their share in jobs and education for three years. Similarly, the SCs quota was not enhanced. He said KCR Government was misleading the Muslim community on 12% quota and other promises.

The TPCC chief condemned the Chief Minister for openly violating the anti-defection law. He said even Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and Speaker S. Madhusudan Chary remained mute spectators to the open violation of Constitution by the ruling party. He said instead of development of Telangana State, KCR remained focus on strengthening the TRS by engineering defections of elected representatives of opposition to ruling party during the last three years.

Uttam Kumar Reddy also charged the KCR Government of misusing police force to intimidate and harass opposition leaders and workers. He also condemned the Chief Minister for suppressing the freedom of media.

He said that the list of failures of TRS Government was too long and the same would be revealed in the public meeting to be addressed by Rahul Gandhi at Sangareddy on June 1.

Congress senior leaders including P. Balram Naik, Damodar Raja Narasimha, M. Anjan Kumar Yadav, Dasoju Shravan, Anil Kumar Yadav and others were also present int he press conference. (Maxim News)
