She team top ranked in Country: Nayani

Hyderabad: Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy on Saturday said the police were given ample powers to deal firmly and initiate stringent punishment to those harassing or misbehaving with women.
 
Speaking at a function organized in connection with the Women’s Expo at Peoples Plaza on the Necklace Road here on Saturday, the Home Minister pointed out that it was the bounden duty and responsibility of the state government to provide adequate protection and security to women, especially those working till late hours in the IT sector.
 
Thus the She Teams in the police were set up exclusively for the protection and security of women and this was welcomed and lauded by the women of all ages, he observed.
 
The Home Minister said that the Hyderabad She Team with its commendable effort in the aspect of providing security and protection to women has earned appreciation from all over the country and in fact it occupied top rank in the entire country.
 
As many as 50 stalls were put at the Expo which is being organized in connection with the International Women’s Day being observed on March 8.
