Single women to get pension from June 2

District Collector, P Venkatrami Reddy has directed the officials concerned to make all arrangements in order to distribute Aasara pensions to single women on June 2.

Since the State government has decided to disburse the pensions for single women for the first time on the eve of State’s formation day, the Collector instructed them to prepare the list of all the eligible women for pension to give it away for the months of April and May months’ on the occasion of Telangana formation day.

In a video conference with MPDOs, Special Officers and other staff at mandal level, the Collector has said that Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao wanted to implement the project with utmost care since he wanted to see each single women benefit under the scheme.

The officials will have to receive the applications for single women pensions from May 8. Women aged above 18 years, who were separated from their husband, but having less than 1.5 and 2 lakh in rural and urban areas respectively are eligible for the pension.

Unmarried women aged above 30 in rural areas and aged above 35 in urban areas are also eligible to avail it. Meanwhile, the Medak and Sangareddy district administration were also busy in making arrangements for the grand distribution of pensions.
