Hyderabad: A physically-challenged person and his four-month-old son were among three persons killed in rain related incidents in the city. Heavy rain pounded twin cities for hours last evening. The child Joseph along with his 35-year-old physically challenged father Yadulu, who were staying at Siggadikunta Kunta in Banjara hills were killed when a soaked wall collapsed on them due to heavy downpour at 1700 hrs while a sculptor was electrocuted, police said.
The downpour led to inundation of several low-lying areas even as the GHMC pressed its personnel into service to flush out the stagnated water.
At some areas, the GHMC officials shifted the people to safer places and taken up relief works besides providing food packets to them, last night.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who reviewed the situation last night, urged the official machinery to be a alert throughout the night and declared a holiday today for all government and private schools and colleges in the city. (Thanks UNI)
