TS to send 1,250 AEO’s on study tour to Israel

The Telagnana government would be sending around 1,250 Agriculture Extension Officers (AEOs) to Israel for a ten-day programme to get trained in micro-irrigation techniques, high productivity methods and use of organic farming so that they can be replicated in the State to help the farming community. So far, the training courses abroad were confined to IAS officers and other senior officials, but now government wanted to send the AEOs to Israel for training.

AEOs are the first level officers in contact with the farmers in the State. The government wanted to bring massive changes in the sector, including extending financial assistance to the farmers from the next Kharif season.
