Vijay Goel assures to look into Aizawl FC fiasco

Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel today assured to look into the grievances of India champions Aizawl Football Club saying he would talk to the officials of All India Football Federation (AIFF) as well as the club to know the contentious issue.

Talking to reporters after inspecting the Yuba Bharati Stadium, also known as Salt Lake Stadium, the venue of World Cup Under-17 football final, Mr Goel said he was not yet approached by the aggrieved party, however, ” I would talk to the AIFF officials to know thing in first hand.”

I-League champions Aizawl FC have threatened to go fast unto death if they were left out of a proposed unified league’s top tier football championship ISL.

Aizawl FC said, they would go at any length and even would approach Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his intervention against the “Injustice.” If the proposal gets shape, then Aizawl will have to be relegated to second division of I-League from next session.
