Hyderabad: A four-month-old baby boy, who was abducted from near his mother, who was sleeping on the pavement in Nampally, here on Thursday was rescued by the Nampally police.
According to the Nampally police, the infant, Faizan Khan, was sleeping beside his mother, Humera Begum, on the pavement in the wee hours of Thursday, when the abductors, identified as Mohammed Mustaq, 42, and Mohammed Yousuf, 25, took him away.
SHO Nampally Police said Humera Begum, 21, a resident of Subhanpura, was eking out a livelihood by seeking alms in Nampally. She slept on the pavement near the Nampally Dargah every night, along with the baby.
Mustaq and Yousuf had seen this and abducted the child. Based on a complaint from Humera Begum, special teams were formed and with the help of CCTV footage, the abductors were identified and traced in less than 15 hours, with the child being reunited with his mother by 2.30 pm on Thursday.
