Weavers’ Societies organises National Handloom Day rally in Nalgonda

The members of Weavers’ Societies took out a rally from Ramgiri to Clock Tower in Nalgonda on the occasion of National Handloom Day.

The district Collector Gaurav Uppal flagged out a rally at Gandhi Statue in Ramgiri. Speaking on the occasion, Gaurav Uppal reminded that there were 1,700 looms of weavers in the district and mostly concentrated at Chandur, Puttapaka, Nakrekal and Siripuram.

He pointed out that the State government has taken up special care for development of handlooms sector in the State. Geo-tagging to looms was completed in the district, he added.
