2 Congress Senior Leaders Quit Cong, To Join TRS

Hyderabad, Nov.29 (Maxim News): In a major blow to the Congress in Nalgonda district, senior Congress leaders Chilukala Govardhan Reddy and lawyer Dharanikota Ramu, have resigned from the primary membership of the party and are set to join the TRS.

Chilukala Govardhan Reddy, who was elected thrice as a Councillor was a follower of late DCC leader Chakilam Srinivasa Rao. He worked as an election agent from 1970s and is a senior leader with the Congress and has been upset with the way the party treated him. He is also said to have been disturbed with the infighting in the party and met TRS Minister Jagadish Reddy and expressed his desire to join the TRS.

Dharanikota Ramu, who is said to be a close aide of Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has been an active student union leader and a part of the SSUI. He was also an active Youth Congress leader and was the President of the Youth Congress at one time. He established himself as a credible leader in the Nalgonda Congress party circles. He was also elected as the Head of the Sanjay Gandhi Polytechnic Institute in Nalgonda. (Maxim News)
