If The Seized Gold And Hawala Cash Is Less Than Rs. 10 Lacs: EC Will Return It In 48 Hours

Hyderabad, Oct 20 (Maxim News): The Election Commission has responded to the criticism that hawala, traders, and citizens have been tied up and seized more than Rs. 50 thousand in cash and more than 10 grams of gold, A Grievance Cell has been set up in each district to help the victim recover their money.

Owners of cash and gold jewelry caught in police checks will contact the chairman of this cell and return it within 48 hours if proper evidence is submitted. But the value of these should be within Rs. 10 lakh only. Beyond that, the details should be disclosed to the Income Tax authorities. They have to consider the legal aspect and make a decision.  The Grievance Cell in the Hyderabad District collector’s office resolves more than ten issues per day.

The Election Commission has clarified that after the police and inspection teams seize the cash and gold, they keep it in the concerned police station and register a case. This information will be given to the respective employers.

The details of those secured will be sent to the respective Constituency Election Returning and Income Tax Officers. Those who want to get these back have to show the police case details sheet at the office of the Election Returning Officer. The authorities there will transfer it to the Grievance cell. later, if he meets the Chairman of the Grievance Cell in the Collectorate, he will receive the case details and evidence. They will give a receipt in this regard and suggest to come when their cell officials call.

Within 48 hours, the said victims will be called and the evidence submitted by them will be thoroughly examined.  If everything is in order, the returning officer will be informed. to this extent, the Returning Officer issues orders to the police station where the property is stored.  The victims have to go to the police state and take it.  

The Central Election Commission has set up a Grievance Cell with the intention that those who are caught by the police carrying cash for urgent work should not face any trouble.  so far we have solved more than a hundred cases.  Although it is suggested not to carry more than Rs. 50 thousand cash in the background of the election rule in force.  If you have to take it urgently, you should keep the appropriate evidence with you.  (Maxim News)
