With The Rejection Of 3 Independent Candidates: The Election Of 2 Congress And One BRS Candidate Became Unanimous In Telangana

Hyderabad, Feb 20 (Maxim News): The deadline for withdrawal of nominations for the Rajya Sabha elections ended today evening. The election was unanimous with only three remaining candidates for 3 seats in the state of Telangana.

Renuka Chaudhary and Anil Kumar Yadav from Congress and Vaviraju Ravichandra from BRS have become unanimous.  Jajula Bhaskar, Bhojaraju Koyalkar, and Kiran Rathore as an independent candidate filed nominations on behalf of the Shramjeevi Party, for which at least 10 MLAs have to sign in support of each candidate who wants to contest as a Rajya Sabha candidate.  Except for Congress and BRS candidates, none of the MLAs signed in support of the remaining three candidates.  Their nominations were rejected by the Returning Officer Upender Reddy.  

After the approval of the Central Election Commission, the Returning Officer will declare that two congresses and one BRS candidate have been elected unanimously. (Maxim News)
