Loan Waiver Scheme For Farmers Likely In Phased Manner

Hyderabad, June 20 (Maxim News): It seems that the State government headed by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is planning to implement the farmer loan waiver scheme in a phased manner from the first week of next month.

It is reported that the government, which is working on the implementation, has already decided on guidelines, fundraising, etc. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who announced that the loan waiver will be implemented by August 15, has discussed the matter extensively with the finance department officials and cabinet colleagues for the past few days.  

According to relevant sources, it is learned that the government has also studied the guidelines prepared by the Center for the Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme and has decided to take into account the guidelines of the Center in implementing the loan waiver.  According to this, for the lands held by the institutions, those holding constitutional positions in the Central and state governments, present and former ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, Mayors, Zilla Parishad Chairman, employees in higher categories in the Central and state governments, doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants.  There will be no waiver for the loan taken on land by those belonging to many sectors.  After considering all these, it is estimated that a loan waiver will have to be implemented for about 26 lakh farmer families.

The government will discuss all these issues in the cabinet meeting on June 21 and take the final decision.  According to reliable sources, it is planned to implement it in a phased manner from the first week of July.  First, it is known that the loan up to Rs. lakh will be waived off for which it is reported that approximately Rs. 6 thousand crores are needed for this.  

Later it is possible to implement up to Rs. 1.50 lakh, it is reported that another Rs. 6,500 crore is needed for this.  It is known that loan waiver will be implemented for about 16 lakh farmer families in these two phases.  It is informed that those who have loans up to Rs. 2 lakh will be implemented in two phases.  It seems that there is a possibility that the state government will introduce the budget immediately after the central budget is presented in July and raise the funds for the implementation of the remaining loan waiver.

RYTHU BHAROSA ONLY FOR CULTIVATING FARMERS

It seems that the state government has already discussed and reached a decision on the guidelines for the implementation of Rythu Bharosa.  Hills and real estate layouts will be excluded.  Related sources said that the government intends that only the farmer who cultivates should get Rythu Bharosa and there will be guidelines according to this.  It is known that the Bharosa would be limited to five acres for a farmer, regardless of how many acres of land he had.  (Maxim News)
