Kavitha Still Behind Bars in Delhi Liquor Scam

Kavitha | Delhi/Hyderabad, Aug 20 (Maxim News): BRS MLC Kavitha once again faced disappointment in the Delhi Liquor Scam case.

The Supreme Court adjourned the hearing on the petition filed by Kavitha seeking bail in the ED and CBI cases due to her illness.

CBI filed a counter-petition against Kavitha’s bail in this case. ED did not. When they asked the bench to give them time to file a counter, the Supreme Court gave them time to file a counter at the request of the ED.

The Supreme Court had directed the ED to file the counter by Thursday, The next hearing was adjourned to 27th of this month.

Kavitha Still Behind Bars

It may be recalled that the Supreme Court has recently granted bail to former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who is the prime accused in the liquor scam case.

BRS leaders and activists are hopeful that Kavitha will be granted bail today when the Supreme Court hears the hearing on Kavita’s bail petition.

Recently, as the Supreme Court postponed the hearing on the bail petition, once again there is excitement over Kavitha’s bail.

ED arrested MLC Kavitha on March 15 in a liquor scam case. Kavita has been in jail for almost five months.
Several attempts were made for bail but all efforts failed. And we have to wait and see what kind of verdict the Supreme Court will give on Kavita’s bail. (Maxim News)
