Hyderabad, Aug 20 (Maxim News): GHMC Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Shobhan Reddy said that people should not panic due to heavy rains falling in the city and the officials and administrators of GHMC are standing by the people all the time.

On Tuesday, she toured the areas and visited the GHMC headquarters‘ control room. On this occasion, she inquired about the complaints received at the control room after the rains.

The Control Room officer on special duty will provide the details of rainfall in the last 24 hours till today morning in various parts of the city, the performance of the respective teams, the monitoring of the rain conditions in the city from the control room, the water level of Hussain Sagar, the low lying areas, the condition of the ponds in the city, etc. D. Anuradha explained to the Deputy Mayor.

GHMC On ALERT

On this occasion, Deputy Mayor Srilata Shobhan Reddy said that given the heavy rains that have been falling for the last two days, the authorities and the administration of GHMC have been alerted and are taking all measures so that the people do not face any problems. She said that officials, DRF and Monsoon Emergency teams are working 24 hours in the area, fully monitoring and taking necessary measures from time to time. She said that the complaints received from the people are being resolved by visiting the field and solving the problems then and there. She said that the sluice gate was lifted and the water was released downstream in Hussain Sagar due to the rise of flood water from above the minimum water level.  She explained that the people of the lower areas have been advised to be vigilant. 

She suggested that people should not panic due to rain and should be alert, especially the people of low-lying areas should be safe and should call the GHMC control room for necessary assistance.  Children and old people were asked to be careful not to go out in the rain.  Husain Sagar inflow is 1850 cusecs and outflow is 2100 cusecs of water released below.  (Maxim News)
