Invitation From Pakistan To PM Modi To Attend SCO Meeting

Delhi/Hyderabad, Aug 25 (Maxim News): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received an invitation from Pakistan inviting Narendra Modi to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in October this year. The Islamabad Council of Heads of Government is all set to host the SCO meeting on October 1q5-16.

India, Pakistan, Russia, and China are full members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. This organization contributes to the cooperation and development of the countries of the Asian continent. It remains to be seen whether Modi will go to Pakistan or attend the SCO meeting virtually. A Union Minister or individual may be appointed as India’s representative to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meeting, New Delhi has sent a minister to represent India at the SCO meetings held by Pakistan in the past.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Islamabad is also unlikely in the wake of the series of attacks launched in the Jammu region in the last two months. Earlier, the region was considered terror-free, however, recent attacks by Pakistan have again created uncertainty in the region.  (Maxim News)
