Prepare Ground For Local Body Elections: Instructions To Collectors

Hyderabad, Aug 29 (Maxim News): The State government has started the exercise to conduct local body elections in Telangana.

Telangana State Election Commission Commissioner Parthasarathi held a video conference with the Collectors of all districts on Thursday regarding the conduct of elections. The electoral list, arrangement of polling booths, and other issues were discussed.

On this occasion, the Commissioner ordered the Collectors to prepare for the completion of local body elections within the next four to five months. Meanwhile, the State Election Commission has decided to conduct the Gram Panchayat elections in three phases, First Sarpanch, then ZP, MPTC, and then Municipal elections will be held.

The Election Commission will announce the draft election schedule notification on September 6 and the final voter list on September 21. EC has decided to set up additional polling centers if 600 to 650 voters exceeded in each polling center. As the government has started the exercise for the local body elections, the major parties in the state are preparing for the elections, while the ruling Congress party has started strategies to secure majority seats, BRS and BJP are making plans to show their power in the local body elections.  (Maxim News)
