In this connection, Noel Tata was unanimously elected as the Chairman of Tata Trust. Noel Tata, the stepmother’s son, is already a trustee of the Ratan Tata Trust.
Ratan Tata’s stepmother’s son Noel Tata. He was chosen as he was expected to effectively carry forward the legacy of Tata. Noel is the son of Naval Tata and Simone (second wife) presently, Noel Tata is the Chairman of Voltas, Tata Investment Corporation, and Tata International.

Noel Tata is also the Vice Chairman of Tata Steel and Titan. Tata Trusts owns a majority stake of 66 percent in Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group. Due to this, the decision was taken to have over the responsibilities to Noel Tata to have a person in the position of Tata as Chairman play a key role. (Maxim News)
