Bandi Sanjay Detained For Protesting With Group 1 Aspirants

Hyderabad, Oct 19 (Maxim News): A tense situation prevailed near Lower Tank Bund as the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay was stopped by the police. Bandi Sanjay, who is agitating in support of the candidates seeking postponement of the Group -1 examination, took out a rally and tried to besiege the Secretariat. The police foiled the attempt.

Bandi Sanjay expressed anger at the police for stopping him. On this occasion, Bandi said that he was going to explain the facts to the Chief Minister in the Secretariat.

He demanded the cancellation of G.O. 29. Bandi Sanjay said that the government should stop being adamant and it is not appropriate for the police to wave batons against the candidates. There was a tense atmosphere as he said that even if the police stopped him, he would go to the Secretariat and finish it. Group-1 candidates continued their agitation by staging a sit-in on the road, The vehicle carrying Bandi Sanjay was blocked by Group-1 candidates everywhere. CM Ravanth Reddy responded to Bandi Sanjay’s concern.

Telangana Government Chief Secretary, Shanthi Kumari spoke to Union Minister Bandi Sanjay on the phone and invited him to come to the discussion on G.O. 29.

Government-issued G.O 29 before Group-1 examination making changes in Reservation for Persons with Disabilities.  According to the G.O., Some students raised concerns that only upper caste candidates benefit and injustice is being done to BC, SC, and ST candidates.  To put it simply, some students claim that this G.O. exists so that only open-category candidates can get a job.  (Maxim News)
