Lagacharla Violence: Farmers Files Complaint At NHRC

Delhi/Hyderabad, Nov 18 (Maxim News): Former Minister and MLC Satyavathi Rathod said that they have filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Delhi today, against the anarchy of the Telangana State government in the Lagacharla incident.

The Revanth government has been accused of trying to grab the land which is the livelihood of the farmers.  He said that in order to prevent this, the local youth blocked the authorities and some clashes took place. They said that the police were abusing the villagers using this as an excuse.

They expressed concern that illegal cases were filed against many people and they were arrested. Revanth’s brother Tirupati Reddy is still threatening the villagers. They said that they have complained about this. Satyavathi Rathod said that they are trying to meet President Droupadi Murmu, who is an Adivasi child.  They said that they have lodged a complaint with the National SC and ST Commission about the way the state government and the police are treating the members of the families of the affected farmers who were arrested in the attack on the officials in Lagacharla.

The victims of Lagacharla Pharma said that they have been protesting for their land for nine months. Lagacharla Pharma victims said 500 policemen came and beat them. It is said that they have all been taken to jail. They clarified that they are not giving land. They asked them to leave. They said they want justice. The victims of Lagacharla Pharma expressed their grief before the NHRC that they did not expect that Revanth Reddy would do this.  (Maxim News)
