GHMC Council Meeting Heated Up

Hyderabad, Jan 30 (Maxim News): The GHMC Council Meeting turned into a heated discussion. The council meeting began on Thursday morning under the chairmanship of Mayor Gadwal Vijayalaxmi. However, chaos ensued as soon as the meeting began. When the Mayor said that the budget would be presented first, BRS and BJP corporators insisted that they should talk about public issues first. Congress corporators blocked the BRS corporators who came to the Mayor’s podium holding placards.

Congress corporators CN Reddy and Baba Fasiuddin snatched placards from BRS members and tore them. In this sequence, a heated argument broke out between BRS and Congress corporators. Corporators of both parties pushed each other. Within five minutes of the meeting starting, there was a lot of chaos, so the marshals entered the council meeting. BRS and Congress corporators pushed each other and abused each other. BRS members threw placards at the Mayor’s podium. Immediately, the marshal reached there arrested the BRS corporators, and took them to the police station.

BRS corporators are alleging that the six guarantees of the Congress are not being implemented in the state and that funds are being misused in Greater Hyderabad. BRS corporators came to the council meeting holding placards, alleging that welfare schemes and development programs are not progressing. As they were rushing towards the Mayor, Congress corporators CN Reddy and Baba Fasiuddin stopped them. Marshals immediately reached there and arrested the BRS corporators. On the other hand, BRS corporators are attacking the BRS and Congress parties. BJP party leaders are alleging that the meeting is being prevented from going ahead because the Congress and BRS are two parties.  (Maxim News)
