Govt Estimate Revenue From Liquor And Drugs Rs. 27 Thousand Crores In 2025-26

Hyderabad, Mar 19 (Maxim News): The Telangana government has presented the 2025-26 budgetFinance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka revealed the estimate of the state’s revenue sources in his budget presented to the assembly.

The government has estimated that the revenue from sales tax will be Rs. 37,463 crore, the tax revenue estimate on vehicles has been set at Rs. 8,535 crore, the estimated revenue from stamps and registrations to the government through the sale and purchase of lands and houses is Rs. 19,087 crore rupees.  

The government has set a target of Rs. 27,623 crore in revenue from the excise department, which means drug and liquor sales. The government has clarified that the state’s tax revenue estimate is Rs. 1,45,419 croreCM Revanth Reddy’s government has revealed the loans proposed in the budget as Rs. 69,639 crore.

Finance Minister Mau Bhatti Vikramarka clarified in his budget speech that the share of central taxes is Rs. 29,899 crores and non-tax revenue is estimated at Rs. 31,618 crores. Grants from the central government are estimated at Rs. 22,782 crore. The state government has estimated that the debt could be Rs. 5,04,814 crore by the end of this financial year, i.e. 2025-26. The government has estimated the debt as 28.1 percent of the GSDP.
