Delhi/Hyderabad, july 23 (Maxim News): The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has announced that all the units of the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant, which the Telangana government is ambitiously undertaking, will be available by march 2026. To this end, it has released the second quarterly report on the progress of construction of thermal plants for the financial year 2025-26. It has been stated that the last unit -5 with a capacity of 800 MW as part of the Yadadri Thermal Plant will start commercial production in March 2026.
Telangana Genco is constructing five units with a capacity of 4000 MW, each with 800 MW, at Veerlapalem in Damaracherla mandal of the joint Nalgonda district. While two units (1-2) are already generating electricity, if the third unit is completed by next December, the fourth unit by October, and the fifth unit by march 2026, Veerlapalem will set records as the area with a 4,000 megawatt thermal power plant in one place.
