Bandi Sanjay Refutes BRS Merger Rumors, Slams Party for Corruption and Dynastic Politics

Hyderabad, July 27, 2025 — The political tug-of-war between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) continues to escalate in Telangana, with Union Minister Bandi Sanjay issuing strong statements against the BRS leadership and clarifying recent remarks made by BJP MP CM Ramesh regarding a potential BRS merger with the BJP.

Speaking to the media, Bandi Sanjay took a firm stance, stating that the BJP has no intention of accepting a merger with the BRS, despite CM Ramesh’s earlier comments suggesting such a possibility. “What CM Ramesh said may be true in spirit, but the BJP will never agree to a merger with a party steeped in corruption and dynastic politics,” he said.

Sharp Criticism of BRS Leadership

Bandi Sanjay didn’t hold back in his attack on the BRS, accusing it of functioning like a private family enterprise rather than a democratic political outfit. “The BRS is no longer a party of the people. It’s a party of the son, daughter, son-in-law, and father-in-law. Democracy has no place in their internal functioning,” he alleged.

He further claimed that KTR (K. T. Rama Rao), working president of the BRS, was given the Sircilla MLA ticket only with the intervention of BJP MP CM Ramesh. According to Sanjay, there was initial resistance from KCR (former CM and BRS chief) in allotting the ticket to his son, which contradicts the image of seamless succession projected by the party.

Political Climate Heats Up in Telangana

The recent exchange between BRS and BJP leaders has added fuel to Telangana’s already charged political atmosphere. The BJP is aiming to expand its influence in the state, especially after its strong performance in the last general elections, while the BRS continues to face internal rifts and criticism over its leadership style and governance track record.

Sanjay’s comments come at a time when political speculation around party alliances and defections is running high. His outright rejection of any merger between BRS and BJP sends a clear message about the saffron party’s strategy to maintain ideological distance from its rivals.

No Room for Compromise, Says Sanjay

“The BJP stands for transparency, development, and clean politics. We will not compromise our principles by joining hands with parties that treat governance like family property,” Bandi Sanjay asserted.

As Telangana moves closer to local body and assembly elections, the war of words between rival parties is expected to intensify, with both the BJP and BRS vying for political dominance.
