Thunderstorm, Lightning Strike In Hyderabad: Tree Falls On Car, Water Stagnant On Roads, Traffic Jams, Public Worried
Hyderabad, Aug 4 (Maxim News) : A sudden thunderstorm accompanied by heavy rain in the city on Monday afternoon surprised and disturbed the citizens. An incident of lightning occurred in the Gachibowli area, due to which the locals started running here and there in fear. There was a lot of crowd on the road at the time of the incident but no loss of life was reported.
During the rain, a tree was uprooted by strong winds in the Panjagutta area and fell on a car, damaging the vehicle. No one was injured in the accident, but there was a sense of panic among the locals.
The rains were a time of closure for schools and offices, which further worsened the traffic situation. Waterlogging on the roads caused vehicles to crawl and led to severe traffic jams on major highways. Traffic flow was affected for hours in many areas.
Local government staff and traffic police have appealed to citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and take precautionary measures. The Meteorological Department has predicted more rain in the next few hours (Maxim News)
