At the same time, the bench said that the list with an explanation of why they were removed should be made public. The Supreme Court, which took up the matter on Thursday (August 14) , also questioned the removal of 22 lakh people on the grounds of death. It questioned why this was not disclosed at the booth level. “We do not want the rights of citizens to depend on political parties,” the bench commented.

“We have fully heard the arguments of the Election Commission of India. During the hearing, the following steps were agreed upon. The list of 65 lakh voters whose names appear in the 2025 list but are not included in the latest list should be displayed on the district-level websites,” the Supreme court said in its order.

Meanwhile, the opposition parties are criticizing the Election Commission’s hasty revision of the special voters lists in Bihar. On the other hand, the flaws in the revision of this list are being exposed every day. Several petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court regarding these.

On the other hand, the EC has been justifying its decision, explaining that this process was undertaken to remove ineligible voters and clean up the voter list. However, the opposition parties have been expressing many doubts about this voter list revision process. Meanwhile, in the Lok Sabha, leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has exposed vote theft in the voter list in Maharashtra and Karnataka with evidence and is also criticizing the special voter list revision carried out in Bihar.
