Hyderabad, Sept. 12 (Maxim News): In a daring incident of broad daylight robbery, a steel trader was threatened and robbed in the Shankarpally police station limits of Rangareddy district on Thursday. The assailants allegedly intercepted the trader’s car and looted cash at knifepoint in Shankarpally limits.
According to police, the trader was carrying a bag containing ₹40 lakh when the attackers blocked his vehicle and threatened him with knives. In the commotion, the robbers seized the cash and attempted to escape in their car. However, their getaway vehicle overturned during the chase. The robbers then abandoned the damaged car and fled on foot with the bag of money. In the process, they left behind ₹15 lakh inside the vehicle while managing to escape with the rest of the amount.
On receiving information, Cyberabad police rushed to the spot and launched a search operation to track down the culprits. Investigators are verifying CCTV footage in the area and suspect that the gang may have been following the trader prior to the attack. The incident has caused panic among local traders and residents, as the crime took place in a busy area during the day.
Police officials said they are confident of apprehending the suspects soon and recovering the stolen amount. (Maxim News)
