VHP Demands Delhi’s Name Be Changed To ‘Indraprastha’
Delhi/Hyderabad, Oct 20 (Maxim News): The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has demanded that the name of Delhi be changed to ‘Indraprastha‘. It has said that the capital should be linked to its ancient history and culture. The VHP Delhi unit wrote a letter to Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra on Sunday in this regard.
The letter demanded that the Indira Gandhi International Airport be renamed as Indraprastha International Airport. Delhi Railway Station as Indraprastha Railway Station, and Shahjahanabad Development be renamed as Indraprastha Development Board.
“Names are not just changes. They reflect the consciousness of a nation. When we say Delhi, we see only 2,000 years of history. But, when we say Indraprastha, we are connected to 6,000 years of glorious history,” it said. (Maxim News)
