Hyderabad Police Warn Against Fake Poster on WhatsApp, Phone Call Rules

Hyderabad, Oct. 28 (Maxim News): The Hyderabad Police have clarified that a poster circulating on social media claiming new rules for WhatsApp and phone calls is fake.

The department urged citizens not to believe or share such misleading information.

Police Clarify on Fake Social Media Claims

In recent days, a digital poster has been widely shared online, falsely claiming that all phone calls will be recorded and social media accounts will be monitored under new regulations.

Responding to the viral post, the Hyderabad Police stated that no such rules have been issued by them.

The police took to social media platform X to issue a fact check, describing the circulating poster as “completely false.”

They emphasized that it was not released by the police and urged citizens to verify any such claims before forwarding or sharing them.

The message posted by the police read: “A digital poster with false information is circulating on social media.

The details mentioned in it are entirely untrue. The police have not released any such notice. Please do not share or forward unverified content. Report any such fake information to the authorities.”

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand re-shared the fact-check post on X, adding hashtags #FactCheck and #FakePoster to raise public awareness about misinformation.

Authorities advised the public to rely only on official communication channels for verified updates and report fake content through cybercrime portals or the nearest police station. (Maxim News)
