Komatireddy Venkat Reddy Slams BRS, Questions KCR’s Absence

  • Minister intensifies Jubilee Hills campaign, urges voters to back Congress
  • Claims Hyderabad’s growth happened only under Congress governments

Hyderabad, Nov 6 (Maxim News): Telangana Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy launched a strong attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), questioning how former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) could hope to return to power without even attending Assembly sessions. He was speaking at a door-to-door campaign in support of Congress candidate Naveen Yadav at Rahmath Nagar division as part of the Jubilee Hills by-election.

The Minister, accompanied by Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Government Whip Beerla Ilaiah, and several local Congress leaders, interacted warmly with residents and urged them to vote for the hand symbol. He said that Hyderabad’s comprehensive growth and welfare-oriented governance were made possible only under successive Congress administrations. The campaign drew an enthusiastic response, with several youth and locals taking selfies with the Minister.

“Congress stands for welfare and inclusive progress — the only party that genuinely protects the poor,” Komatireddy told residents. He assured them that the Congress government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy would resolve all pending civic issues in coordination with local representatives.

Highlighting past achievements, Komatireddy said that today’s IT and infrastructure boom in Hyderabad was founded during Congress rule. “If lakhs of IT professionals are employed today, it’s because Congress built the ecosystem. We gave Hyderabad the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Outer Ring Road, and promoted the IT and pharma sectors that made this city global,” he stated. He also recalled that Congress built the 14-km PVNR Expressway and criticized BRS leaders for claiming credit for smaller projects.

Lashing out at the BRS for selling the Outer Ring Road valued at Rs. 1 lakh crore for just Rs. 7,000 crore before the elections, Komatireddy called it a betrayal of public assets. “Under CM Revanth Reddy’s vision, we are taking up the Regional Ring Road with an investment of Rs. 30,000 crore, and work will begin by February 2026. We will also develop radial roads connecting the ORR and RRR,” he added.

Citing the rise in land prices at Kokapet and Rajendranagar, the Minister said the surge proves the Congress government’s strong development policies. “Plots fetching Rs. 200 crore per acre are clear evidence of Hyderabad’s progress. The upcoming Future City will make Hyderabad one of the world’s most advanced cities,” he said.

Dismissing BRS’s emotional campaign tactics, Komatireddy asserted that they were resorting to false propaganda out of frustration. “KTR says KCR will return in two years. How can a leader who doesn’t even attend the Assembly return to power?” he asked. He accused the Kalvakuntla family of looting in the name of Kaleshwaram and Dharani, alleging internal disputes within the family over corruption issues.

Calling on people to vote wisely, Komatireddy said, “Do not fall for BRS’s sentimental politics. We promise to bring double the development to Jubilee Hills compared to what we’re achieving in Cantonment.” His presence and message have further energized Congress cadres in Jubilee Hills, boosting confidence of a clear victory for Naveen Yadav.
