The cold wave in Telangana has intensified due to strong cold winds and increased humidity. As a result, many people are struggling with the sudden change in weather. Officials therefore asked citizens to stay cautious. They said elderly people, young children and pregnant women must be more careful as they face higher risk during extreme cold. The advisory stressed the need for simple precautions to avoid health issues.

Yellow Alert for Seven Telangana Districts

The Meteorological Department issued a Yellow Alert for seven districts as the cold wave continues. The alert covers Adilabad, Asifabad, Good News, Medak, Kamareddy, Nirmal and Sangareddy. Officials said strong cold winds are likely during night hours in these areas. They asked residents to reduce outdoor activity and avoid unnecessary travel after dark. They also reminded the public that cold winds could become stronger in the next few days.

Officials Urge Precautions as Temperatures Drop

The weather department also shared several precautionary steps. It said people should wear warm clothes during early mornings and nights. It advised children and the elderly to remain indoors as much as possible. The department also suggested avoiding unnecessary travel at night and drinking warm fluids when exposed to cold. Motorists were asked to drive carefully since fog may appear during morning hours. Farmers were told to make arrangements to protect crops from cold-related harm.
