GHMC Standing Committee Approves Rs 11,460 Crore Budget Proposals

Hyderabad, Dec. 29 (Maxim News): GHMC Standing Committee approved budget proposals for 2026-27 fiscal year. The panel greenlit Rs 11,460 crore annual draft budget. This includes merged municipalities

Discussions also covered revised 2025-26 budget proposals. Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi chaired the 10th general meeting today.

The session occurred in the Command Control Room on the 7th floor of GHMC head office. Committee members debated comprehensively.

Consequently, they approved all proposals. The annual budget now heads to the council for final nod. Revised budget for the current year also received approval.

Key Agenda Items and Decisions

Committee cleared 15 agenda items and 7 additional ones. First, it permitted infrastructure at Izatnagar BC Vaikunthadham in Chandanagar Circle Ward 107. 

Facilities include cremation unit, pooja mandap, and toilets. Second, administrative nod for box drain near 94 Bus Stop in Khairatabad Zone. Third, recommended 45-meter and 30-meter roads from Chandanagar to Aminpura to government.

Feasibility allows acquiring 124 properties, the panel noted. Fourth, proposed flyovers and underpasses in H-City from Miyapur to Alvin X Roads. 

This seeks 220 property acquisitions. Fifth, panel approval for filling senior assistant vacancies in 2025-26. Sixth, e-procurement for AI solutions on GHMC website. These cover chatbots and form filling for three years.

Seventh, CSR helmet sculpture at Tarnaka Junction for road safety awareness. Location shifted from Begumpet. Eighth to eleventh extended CSR maintenance for medians, parks, and flyovers till 2028.

Agencies like Evoke Technologies and Kamalasan Properties got extensions. Twelfth, Expression of Interest for fencing in Masjidband via Sri Sri Holistic Hospitals.

Thirteenth, lease extension request for SBH Colony land till March 2025. Fourteenth, study tours for 145 ward members to Ahmedabad and Chandigarh. 

Fifteenth, addressed unauthorized occupation at Cha Cha Nehru Park playground. Additional items renamed NBT Nagar complex and handled land swaps.

Commissioner R.V. Karnan attended with members like Bonthu Shridevi and Syed Minhajuddin. Zonal commissioners and officials participated. 

GHMC serves 10 million across 650 sq km. Past budgets funded roads and sanitation. Thus, this approval boosts infrastructure push. Council meeting follows soon.
