DCA Raids Quack Clinic In Hanamkonda, Medicines Seized
Hyderabad, Jan 7 (Maxim News): Inspection teams from the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana (TGDCA), raided the premises of quack and unqualified practitioner Swargam Sathish Babu, located at a First Aid Clinic in Damera Village, Hanumakonda, who was conducting clinical practice without proper qualifications.
During the raid, the DCA teams detected 30 varieties of medicines, including antibiotics, steroids, analgesics, anti-ulcer drugs and antihypertensive drugs, worth Rs. 21,650, which were stocked for sale at the premises without a drug license.
DCA officials, who detected several antibiotics at the clinic during the raid, said that the indiscriminate sale of antibiotics by unqualified persons could have serious consequences for public health, including the emergence of antimicrobial resistance.
J Kiran Kumar, Drugs Inspector, Hanumakonda, carried out the raid under the supervision of Dr. G Rajyalakshmi, Assistant Director, Warangal. DCA officers lifted samples for analysis. Further investigation will be carried out and action will be taken as per law against all offenders, the statement added. (Maxim News)
