  • US attack on Iran fears rise amid West Asia deployments
  • Israel on alert as US attack on Iran signals intensify

The United States is preparing major military deployments in West Asia, raising concerns over a possible US attack on Iran. American media reports say the US has begun moving key military hardware into the region. These moves include sending an aircraft carrier and fighter jets closer to Iran. Meanwhile, mixed signals from US President Donald Trump have added to uncertainty across the region.

According to reports, the US is strengthening the United States Central Command, which oversees operations in the Middle East. As part of this effort, the US has positioned F 15E Strike Eagle fighter jets and the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln near Iran. It has also boosted air and missile defence systems in the region. On Thursday, Trump said a “big force” is moving towards Iran. However, he also said that “nothing will happen,” while adding that the US is watching Iran “very closely.”

At the same time, Iran has warned of serious consequences if a US attack on Iran takes place. Iranian officials said any strike would push the entire region into a full scale military conflict. Meanwhile, Israel has begun preparations amid fears of retaliation. Reports say Israel is concerned that Iran could target it if the US launches an attack. Although the US has not made a formal public announcement, Israeli security officials said they remain on high alert.

According to Air and Space Forces magazine, the US Air Force has moved 12 F 15E Strike Eagle jets from the United Kingdom to air bases in Jordan. Along with the fighter jets, KC 135 aerial refuellers and a C 130 cargo aircraft have also arrived. The F 15E is a multi role aircraft. Israel and the US used it during a 12 day war with Iran last year to confront drones sent by Iran. Therefore, Israel has raised the alert level of its air defence system. Its military, police, emergency services, and civil administration are ready for multiple scenarios.

Meanwhile, differences have emerged among Trump’s advisers. Some advisers have urged a limited but strong strike on Iran. Others have warned that Iran’s response could quickly trigger a wider regional war. Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi, writing in the Wall Street Journal, said that if Iran attacks Iran again, its armed forces would respond more severely than they did in June 2025. He accused Israel of pushing the United States towards war. Israeli leaders, however, warned that their response would be more severe and prolonged than what American leaders suggest.
