Almas Khan said that if Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao had been implemented in letter and spirit, the country would not be seeing rising crimes against girl children. He also pointed to alarming dropout rates of girls from schools. He spoke about malnutrition, anaemia, and the continued menace of child marriages. According to him, these issues show a clear gap between slogans and action. He added that the BJP government is strong on slogans but weak on safeguarding the future of the nation’s daughters.

He further alleged that despite crores being allocated on paper, the Central Government has failed to deliver real impact on the ground. He said this failure affects girls from poor, rural, minority, SC and ST communities the most. He claimed there is no serious investment in education, health, nutrition, safety, or skill development for the girl child. He also said the BJP government remembers daughters only during elections. Therefore, he questioned the intent behind repeated publicity around Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.

Meanwhile, Almas Khan contrasted this with the approach of the Telangana Congress government. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the state focuses on real empowerment instead of hollow slogans. He stated that the Congress government prioritises education, healthcare, safety, and economic independence of the girl child. He added that this approach helps girls grow with dignity and equal opportunities.

He also stressed that National Girl Child Day should not remain a token celebration. Instead, he said it must remind the State of its constitutional duty. He asserted that a nation that fails its daughters cannot call itself developed. He further said the Congress party sees empowerment of the girl child as nation building, not an election narrative.
