According to the Kuwaiti government, the strike targeted a power and water desalination facility early on Monday. Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity and Water confirmed the incident in a post on X. It stated that the attack caused damage to a service building and resulted in one fatality. The Ministry described the incident as a “sinful Iranian aggression” against the Gulf nation.

“This attack resulted in the death of an employee (of Indian nationality) and caused severe material damage to the building,” the Ministry said in Arabic (roughly translated to English). Meanwhile, officials deployed emergency and technical response teams to the site. They worked to manage the situation, contain the damage, and maintain operations at the facility.

Conflict escalation and rising toll

The Ministry also stressed that protecting electricity and water infrastructure remains a top priority. It noted that teams are actively working to prevent further risks and ensure uninterrupted essential services. However, the latest fatality adds to a growing toll among Indian nationals in the region.

Earlier, another Indian national died in the United Arab Emirates. He was hit by falling debris after a ballistic missile was intercepted over Abu Dhabi. At that time, the Indian Embassy said it was working with UAE authorities to provide all possible support and assistance to those affected.

Following an inter ministerial review meeting on Friday, officials had confirmed that seven Indian nationals had been killed in the conflict, with one person missing. Monday’s incident has now increased that number further.

The conflict, now in its fifth week, began after the United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iran. Since then, Iranian forces have carried out retaliatory drone and missile attacks. These have targeted Israel and Gulf countries hosting American military installations. As a result, the region has witnessed casualties and major damage to critical infrastructure.
