Nirmal/Hyderabad, May 2: Two youngsters lost their lives after a makeshift raft capsized in a stream at Narsapur (G) mandal centre in Nirmal district on Friday.
Tragic Incident During Outing
The victims were identified as Abdul Arsad (22) and MA Rizwanuddin (20), both residents of the same village.
According to police:
- The duo, along with four friends, visited the stream in the afternoon
- They entered the water using a raft made of thermocol sheets
- The raft overturned suddenly, causing both to drown
Rescue Efforts Failed
Friends standing on the bank raised an alarm, following which local fishermen rushed to the spot.
- The victims were pulled out of the water
- Shifted to a nearby hospital
- Doctors declared them brought dead
Background Of Victims
- Arsad had completed intermediate and worked as a daily-wage labourer
- He was planning to migrate to Dubai for better livelihood opportunities
- Rizwanuddin was also working as a daily-wage labourer
The incident has left the local community in shock.
